Why are These Features Not Freely Provided for Everyone?
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Membership is not necessary to view all 17000+ articles on GreenMedInfo.com in their entirety. We provide this resource to the public for free as an educational service. Membership simply adds a powerful set of features to the already existing free database.
This critical part of our mission – to make the data freely available – will never change. So, here are the reasons why the membership feature is not free….
#1) Greenmedinfo is a resource intensive website. Unlike static html pages, ours are updated continually and dynamically based on the user’s data needs. For instance when someone is using our Culminative Knowledge or Search Tool features to their fullest capacity this strains the resources and reduces the user experience (speed) of everyone else who is using the site for free. It is therefore only fair that those who are using the most CPU/RAM on our server contribute accordingly. In other words, if everyone had access to this feature either our website would be too slow to use, would crash, or we would have to upgrade our sever status to a point far beyond what our resources provide for.
#2) Without members supporting our project, it would simply cease to exist. With hosting fees at $425 a month, and tens of thousands of dollars of time and money put into this project thus far, we will never recoup what we have put into it monetarily. The least we can do is to request assistance from our community to help us to maintain our monthly operating costs. Without members like you, this would not be possible.
